The short version
We don't sell your data. We don't use your conversations to train models. We keep what we need to make the app work, nothing more.
What we collect
- Account info: your email address (only if you create an account via magic link sign-in).
- Learning preferences: persona, level, push time. Stored on your device by default; synced to our database only when signed in.
- Conversations & challenges: messages you send to the AI, challenge responses, mistakes you log. Used to render your history and show progress.
- Anonymous usage: rate-limit counters keyed by IP (transient, in-memory, never persisted long-term).
- Payment status: Pro subscription state from RevenueCat / App Store. We do not see card numbers.
What we do not collect
- Real names, addresses, phone numbers.
- Location, contacts, photos, microphone recordings.
- Behavioral tracking pixels, third-party ad SDKs.
How we use it
Your data powers your app — chat history, daily streak, mistake log, personalized challenges. We do not share it with advertisers or train ML models on it. AI provider (OpenAI) processes your messages to generate responses; their data retention follows their API privacy policy.
Where it lives
Data is stored on Supabase (Postgres, US East region) and Vercel (edge cache). Push notification tokens are stored encrypted at rest. We use industry-standard TLS in-transit.
Your rights
You can sign out anytime from the dashboard. To delete your account and all associated data, email us at hello@zturnsgo.com. We'll process within 7 days.
Children
ChineseThinking is intended for ages 13+. If you are a parent and believe a child under 13 has signed up, contact us and we'll remove the account.
Changes
We'll update this page when our practices change and bump the "Last updated" date.
